I have been contemplating a lot lately. Sorry for the lack of posting.
I have been so glad for all that I have learned this year! The world we live in is getting worse and worse. Lines are blurred, beliefs are challenged, and wicked appears to be good.
My role as a mother and daughter of God has become so clear to me this last year. I feel more sure of my worth and my job here on earth.
My most important role in this world is to be a disciple of Christ, and be the best mother I can.
My influence, teaching, love, and example is the most important thing I can focus on right now.
Some of my biggest lessons are:
1. I am a daughter of God. He loves me and Created me and made me to be exactly who I am supposed to be.
2. The atonement is not only for sins. Jesus Christ bore ALL our afflictions, pain, sorrow, sickness, and grief. IF IT MATTERS TO YOU IT MATTERS TO HIM. He will take away our burden if we just ask. Surrender to him, give it to him, admit that you can do nothing of yourself. He will release you from ANY prison you are in.
3. My children will mimic what I do. I am their role model. They will do what I do. I need to SHOW them what is important, not just tell them.
4.I am not my body. I am a spirit first and foremost. We lived before we came, and we will live after we leave our mortal bodies. Our bodies are great gifts from a loving heavenly father, but they are NOT who we are! It is a vehicle for our spirits. DON'T define your worth by your weight, beauty, or size!
5.My only job in regards to my body is to take care of it. Put good fuel in it. Don't abuse it with junk or overeating to numb emotion. Give it water and sleep. Exercise it. I know I have NO control over how quickly I will lose weight, but I will take care of it the best I can.
6. I can overcome any weakness I have through determination and hard work. Goals are accomplished DAILY, Hourly, and by the minute. Good choices stack on each other and create success.
I am going to focus on two things in preparation for the Christmas season,
1. Living so the spirit can constantly be my companion.
-clean home
-watch good tv
-listen to good music
-be kind
-serve others
-read scriptures/say prayers
-be around uplifting people.
2. Have an attitude of gratitude.
-look for the good
-say thank you more
-say prayers of gratitude
-count my blessings
-appreciate what I have
-use our money wisely
I want to feel close to the savior this holiday season and help my children know the true meaning of Christmas.
